do you offer canadian pricing?
Will I have to pay taxes when I receive my Revv?
Purchases are responsible for any taxes collected by their country/state. However, our products are usually not affected by the tariffs in the USA. Because the situation changes frequently, you can always ask us for the most recent update. This is also a great reason to check out local stores that carry Revv especially if you live in Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, etc. because they handle the importation process for you.
what's the difference between Generator red & purple channels?
The Red Channel is our highest gain channel. It can be very saturated with a low mid focus that's easy to play with lots of sustain. The Purple Channel is our tightest & clearest high gain channel. While it has a lot of gain – it has a more upper mid focus with a razor sharp low end. Ultimately, they are both Revv Generator channels - they can be dialed to be quite similar or quite different. We encourage you to experiment or listen to demos to find what personally suits you best!
What is the Generator 120 Anniversary Edition? Revision B?
In 2024 we released a limited run of Anniversary Edition Generator 120 MK3s. In addition to their colorway, they featured circuit tweaks based on early Revv prototypes & MK2 models. This was to sort of bridge the gap between our current sound & early sound, while giving you all the options in one amp! After that run sold out - all new Generator 120s are "Revision B" - built to the same spec as the Anniversary Edition. The Generator 50's Purple Channel sound was also based around this change, although with additional tweaks to the tone to suit a 50 watt platform, voicing modifications based on common requests by our artists, and EL34s installed as stock in the amp.
How are Dynamis amps different from Generators?
Dynamis amps have completely different tones from Generator amps, largely inspired by vintage sounds. While early Dynamis amps were essentially "not metal Generators" tweaked to the preferences of Nashville session guitarists that fell in love with our sound over 10 years ago - the entire lineup has since been rebuilt from the ground up. Dynamis amps still have the "Revv sound" that centers around an open top end & clear midrange, but the clean channels can be set anywhere from crystal clean to quite gritty & the gain channels have that "non-master-volume" touch-sensitivity & creamy breakup we're all chasing.
What's the Golden Age of Gear?
The Golden Age of Gear podcast is a passion project started with our friend Joey Landreth. Our Vice President Derek Eastveld & Joey talk about guitar gear every Thursday & we keep it real loose. Lots of tangents, road stories, & goofing around with buddies all while checking out new releases, vintage gear, rare custom shops, & more. Check it out!
What kind of Pedals does Revv make?
Revv pedals can largely be grouped into 3 categories. G-Series pedals like the G3 are tones pulled directly from our boutique amplifiers - designed as all-analog "amp-in-a-box" channels to use with pedal platforms, power amps, modelers, & more. Our Signature Series pedals are designed closely with artists to produce unique pedals that explore new sounds & solve problems, like Shawn Tubbs' Tilt Overdrive. There are also pedals like the G8 noise gate that don't fit neatly into a single category. While it is "taken from an amp" like the G-Series pedals because it's based on the Generator 120 MK3's noise gate, we are also working on new designs that aren't signature pedals or based on our amps - our spin on classic or utilitarian pedals.
What are Revvision Cabinets?
We collaborated with Peter Dreimanis to develop LED panel cabs that pair with Resolume to make your backline the centerpiece of your stage show. Rather than a simple wall of demo cabs - you can display artwork, music videos, & more on Revvision cabinets. Currently on the road with a variety of artists including Polyphia.
Do you make your own speakers?
We collaborated with WGSâ„¢ to manufacture our Classic Series speakers, the RV30 & RV90. These are custom-voiced to work great with Revv amps, but they are also based on classic designs with tweaks for improved versatility & musicality - so they may be your new favorite for your cabs in general! These are the stock option in our cabinets & combos, but they are also available for individual purchase.
CAN I CUSTOMIZE MY Revv when ordering?
Yes! Check out our Custom Shop here for our wide range of tolex, grill clothes, faceplates and more options on both amps & speaker cabinets. It's worth noting that certain Revv amps have exclusive colorways, such as the Joey Landreth D20. While we don't offer customization on our pedals - we frequently produce limited run pedals with special designs - so keep an eye out if you're looking for something a little different!
CAN REVVS USE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TUBES?
Yep! Our small heads are 6v6 only – this is really the best for the smaller platform. Our 50 watt & higher heads can be biased to accept 6L6, EL34, or KT88 power tubes.
what is gear & beer?
Gear & Beer is about having fun with fellow musicians & dates back to the early days of Revv. You'll see public Gear & Beer popup events where we meet up at a shop or studio & crush some tall boys while checking out Revv gear. We also livestream Gear & Beer hangouts from the Revv Studio on our YouTube channel. It's just our way of saying all are welcome & we like to keep it casual while chatting about guitar.
