INFo & SPECS
The Revv D20 MK2 is the ideal solution for guitarists looking for all-tube, touch-sensitive clean & edge of breakup tones in a compact package. A wide variety of tones are available from scooped & clean, to pushed & crunchy, & even extended high end chime via the Bright switch. With or without pedals, the idea is a full range of classic amp tones that utilize Revv's distinct clarity & versatility. You'll find you can get the D20 MK2 to break up easily while retaining full volume control if that's what you're looking for, but it also has increased headroom to keep your cleans squeaky clean when needed. The controls are quite usable across their full range, so you won't find yourself limited to a specific "style" of clean/crunch tone: we always say our amps are "Canadian" rather than strictly sticking to an American or British formula! Of course once you add pedals into the equation the D20 MK2 will take all the gain you can throw at it.
On the original D20, a gain boost (which purposefully changes the overall tone quite a bit) was accessed via a push/pull pot on the amp, but for the MK2 we've moved that to a toggle switch, which can be controlled via MIDI or the included 2-button footswitch. Some players prefer using this as a master voicing of the amp - choosing their favorite position & dialing the level of gain they like from there. Others are now utilizing this as their solo boost! Also added is a beautiful digital reverb controlled on the front panel & also remotely switchable like the gain boost. With these changes you can really cut down on pedals if you like... or use more than ever!
Of course, one of the primary benefits of the D20 MK2 besides its feel & tone is the Two notes Torpedo-embedded reactive load & dynIR technology. In layman's terms - you don't have to use a cabinet unless you want to! The reactive load & incredibly detailed impulse responses give you a professional record-ready tone directly from an XLR output on the rear of the amp. This is perfect for recording, silent stages, & practicing, but you can also use the amplifier with a cabinet for a more traditional setup. You can even use the cabinet & the XLR at once, so you can send a miked up tone to FOH via XLR but still get stage sound from a cabinet. We try to make the amplifier as simple or detailed as you like. You can simply choose your favorite cabinet sound on the 6-position rotary switch, or you can deep-edit everything via USB like different speakers & mic positions or even EQ & and virtual power sections.
The most important part of the D20 to us is the tone, & we knew we were on the right track with the original D20 when artists plugged in & said "wow, that's really good!" without knowing about any of the special features. For D20 MK2, we tried to take in as much feedback as possible to make subtle tweaks to the sound of the entire amplifier to make it as punchy, warm, & mix-ready as possible, in addition to the new compact tolex headshell design & functional updates. If you need a great tube amp because that's what you love, but you're looking for the modern convenience of gear like modelers, we hope the D20 MK2 can help bridge that gap for you, because we know it's going to serve you well for the stage, the studio, & at home.
